Behavioral Health (sometimes referred to as Mental Health) is about how emotions and behaviors affects a person’s overall health and well-being. We offer individual therapy, group workshops, in-person visits, telehealth and more.
We offer free, step-by-step help with health insurance. Our Certified Application Counselors can help you understand your health insurance options, submit an application and more.
We proudly provide comprehensive primary care services for children, adolescents and young adults. Our specialty services offer additional opportunities to support the healthy development of kids and families.
Care for chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, depression and more. We also offer a self-management program for people with chronic health conditions called Living Life Well Workshops.

The Community Care Team provides mobile medicine and support services for Missoulians experiencing houselessness. Sometimes called “street medicine,” the CCT helps our neighbors experiencing houselessness with a variety of basic medical needs along with tenancy support to connect patients to housing.
Community Health Workers are frontline public health workers who are trusted members of the communities they work with. Having lived through similar experiences, CHWs possess a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the patients they serve. They work alongside patients in a peer-like capacity to identify patient goals, connect them with services, and empower them to navigate complex systems.
Preventative, comprehensive and emergency dental care for adults and children
Limited urgent, same-day dental appointments are available. These appointments are intended for emergency extractions and/or patients experiencing a lot of pain.
Family Medicine is a medical specialty focused on meeting patient health needs at every stage of life. At PHC, most of our medical team is trained in Family Medicine, also known as Primary Medical Care.
We offer family planning services tailored to your needs. Whether you’re seeking to prevent pregnancy or plan your family size and spacing, we are here to provide support, resources and education for your reproductive health. We provide access to contraception, condoms, pregnancy testing, counseling and more.
We offer a variety of resources and support to help ensure your care is affordable.
We provide comprehensive medical and behavioral health evaluations for children 0-18 years of age who have been placed in out-of-home care. This includes health assessments upon placement into foster care and follow-up care throughout the duration of the child’s placement. This program is a collaboration between Child and Family Services Division (CFSD) of Missoula, Missoula Public Health, and PHC.

Our providers are able to prescribe medication for the treatment of alcohol, prescription pain medication, and other opioid drug misuses.

We partner with the Missoula Fire Department to provide the right care in the right setting for people experiencing behavioral health emergencies. PHC provides a licensed behavioral health clinician and related expertise to the MST. The MST seeks to reduce emergency room visits, divert clients from law enforcement interactions and jail, and provide compassionate, cost-effective solutions to complex challenges.
Our team is here to help you access screenings for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer. We can help you schedule appointments, understand your tests, provide reminder notices, and much more.

Preventative care is about supporting patients to prevent diseases or other health challenges before they occur. Examples of preventative care include annual checkups, screenings for cancer or other diseases, immunizations and more.
This program supports early literacy by engaging children ages 0-5 in reading during well-child visits. Children get to take home a developmentally appropriate book after each visit! This service is available at our Creamery, Lowell, Food Bank, and Seeley Lake Clinics.
A referral is a written order from your primary care provider to see a specialist or receive certain services. If your PHC provider determines that you require attention from a specialist or outside service, we will provide a referral. Insurance providers often require a referral from your primary care provider in order to pay for certain services.

PHC partners with Missoula County Public Schools to offer on-site behavioral health services. Students are able to see a PHC provider with little disruption to their schedule. At these sites, PHC staff can also connect families to medical care, dental care, health insurance, food resources, and housing resources. Current schools include: Lowell Elementary School, Franklin Elementary School, C.S. Porter Middle School, and Willard Alternative High School.

Vasectomy is a permanent contraceptive method for people with testicles. It is 99% effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies. This procedure is done at a PHC clinic in Missoula and takes about 45 minutes.
We provide a full spectrum of breast and cervical health services, including pap and pelvic examinations, clinical breast exams, diagnostic services for abnormal tests, referral to cancer treatment programs if necessary, and self-care education.
