What is a resident?
Residents are doctors. They have graduated from medical school and are completing three years of advanced training in family medicine. About 90% of the program’s graduates go on to practice in Montana or other rural and underserved communities.

What does this mean for my care?
Resident physicians provide high-quality, patient-centered care at PHC. They care for people of all ages and help with everything from routine checkups to ongoing health conditions. Appointments with a resident physician may be a little longer, giving you more time to discuss your health, ask questions, and be heard.

Resident physicians work closely with experienced doctors. They review each patient’s care together, giving you the benefit of a team of doctors helping develop a treatment plan that fits your needs.

By choosing a resident physician, you receive thoughtful, team-based care while helping train the next generation of family doctors for Montana and other rural communities.
